Secure Up To 9 Additional Server Names (SAN’s)
Power Server ID™ SSL Certificates can secure up to 10 server names that reside on the same physical server and share the same second level domain name. When ordering your Power Server ID™ SSL Certificate you will have the option to provide 9 alternative server names to be included in the SSL Certificate. The SSL Certificate we issue will contain these server names, along with the server name listed in the Common Name of the CSR you submitted.
For example, if you need to secure the following server names :
» www.yourdomain.com
» secure.yourdomain.com
» mail.secure.yourdomain.com
» yourdomain.local
» anything.yourdomain.local
» anything.download.secure.yourdomain.com
» servername
You can also use SAN’s to secure local names and internal server names.
You must specify the extra names (SAN’s) during the ordering process. You do not need to add the extra names to your CSR. The number of server names contained in the Subject Alternative Name (SAN) field is limited to 9.
